People may try to bully (and succeed enough to keep trying) with intimidating styles. Some of the styles are dictating, insulting, exploding, sniping and bulldozing. Powerful counter-measures include:

• Breathe deeply, stay calm.
• Give neutral stare.
• Ask to repeat some part.
• Use safe over-agreeing humor.
• Present concise information.
• Insist on level tone to hear.
• Take a break.
• Offer to meet later.
